Department of Integrated Plant Protection of Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) has a 100-year history, based on the first legal predecessor established by law in 1921. With a history of around 60 years of higher education in plant protection (specialization, engineer of plant protection, plant doctor, PhD training in plant protection), with its past, a European (ENDURE ERG European Research Group) and global excellence Department is waiting for the committed, knowledge-hungry generations. In recent years, the Department has been involved in several EU research projects (Diabrotica, Diabr-Act, Bt Bio-No-ta, Endure, C-IPM, Quessa, iPlanta, SMARTER, Prear). In our FAO work, we assisted the international organisation and its member countries as experts and coordinators also. The Department's Groups (Integrated Pest Management Group, Plant Pathology Group, Plant Zoology Group, Weed Management Group) work in international, mainly in European cooperations Our basic philosophy is systems approach, the search for answers to the challenges of the future, ahead of the present . We involve the students in our international works, sending them abroad for training programmes and joint research.
